Electrician Training in Connecticut
There is a shortage of skilled tradespersons in the United States, and that includes knowledgeable and competent electricians. The State of Connecticut has authorized 91ÌÒÉ« Tech to train individuals in high-voltage electrical work, with the goal to equip the graduate to enter the industry workforce as an apprentice electrician. The Electrician Training program is offered at 91ÌÒÉ« Tech’s East Windsor campus in day and afternoon schedules, while our New Britain and Shelton campuses offer day or evening schedules.
Successful completion of the Electrician Training program satisfies the State of Connecticut’s mandated 720 hours of classroom instruction. Graduates can immediately enter the work force as an electrician’s apprentice. After completing the first 4 years of a registered electrician apprenticeship, you will have gained enough valuable experience to sit for the State of Connecticut E-2 Unlimited Electrical Journeyperson examination2.

- Theory of electricity in 2 courses
- National and State electrical Codes
- How to read a blueprint
- Basic Telecommunications
- Telecommunications and Cable Installation
- OSHA 30 safety standards and subsequent knowledge exam
- How power generation and electrical distribution works
- Residential wiring and commercial wiring
- Applications of semi-conductors, programmatic logic controllers, and photovoltaics
- Motor and generator theory, followed by industrial motor control
- Fire, burglar and CCTV alarm systems
